Limited liability company Summit Motors Slovakia, spol. s.r.o. Bratislava, exclusive importer of Ford in Slovakia, reported turnover of approximately SKK 1.7 billion last year. Company Director General Vladimir Srnan announced at Thursday's press conference that the company increased its turnover by SKK 300 million y/y. "Last year the Ford car brand continued to increase its market share, which represented 4.35 percent, in Slovakia," Mr. Srnan stated. He further reported that the company sold 3,443 new Ford cars in Slovakia and plans to exceed 4,000 this year. "It will not be easy to meet this goal, as the import of used cars has topped registration of new cars in Slovakia recently," the company's director general pointed out.
Summit Motors Slovakia covers ten Ford dealers at eleven points of sale. "The company will widen its sales network in Slovakia in the near future, namely in August of this year in Poprad, by the end of 2007 in Martin and at the beginning of next year a new showroom will be opened in the Bratislava district of Petrzalka," Mr. Srnan stated. He added that Summit Motors is planning to set up branches in Lucenec and Senec, too.
The company Summit Motors, Slovakia, spol. s.r.o. was established at the end of May of 2002 by the third largest business firm in Japan, Sumitomo Corporation. The Slovak group also includes the companies Summit Motors Bratislava, spol. s.r.o. and Summit Finance Slovakia, which specializes in leasing Ford cars.
